Fundación Huellas-Corporación Huellas de la Esperanza
  Location: Malambó-Atlántico, Colombia

Founded in 1998, Fundación Huellas is a private nonprofit organization that aims to stimulate the local development of Malambó, a small town on Colombia’s Caribbean coast. In 1999, Fundación Huellas and the staff of one of its founding organizations, decided to create an endowment to support a small school that operated in the backyard of a house. The center was given the name Corporación Huellas de la Esperanza.  In less than 10 years, what began as a small kindergarten serving twelve children became a formal institution with more than 250 students scoring higher than the national average on the country’s educational exams.

Corporación Huellas receives children from all around Malambó.  Most of these youngsters have been displaced by the violence in Colombia’s countryside and live in vulnerable conditions. In addition to quality formal education, the school offers nutritional support and artistic and recreational activities in the afternoons.  The community has recognized both Fundación Huellas and Corporación Huellas for the outstanding work they have done.

Genesis Foundation has supported Corporación Huellas de la Esperanza since 2007.
