The partnership between the Genesis Foundation, Fundación Promigas and la Corporación Acción por Atlántico-Actuar Famiempresas was created with the goal of providing 300 teenagers in 10^th and 11^th grade from five educational institutions in Baranquilla with the tools to become entrepreneurs and enhance their own work opportunities in the future.

Fundación Promigas is a managerial foundation committed to processes of social development that promote quality elementary education as well as economic and social progress of Colombia’s Caribbean coast. La Coporación Acción por Atlántico-Actuar Famiempresas is a private-nonprofit organization with this mission of promoting small businesses known as “Famiempresas.” The organization’s ultimate goal is to generate jobs in with the hope of combating poverty, unemployment, and the violence in the Atlantic areas.  Actuar seeks to accomplish its goal through the implementation of its integral strategy, which includes capacity-building, credit-consultations, and commercialization.

This partnership between Promigas, Actuar and Genesis seeks to foster the students’ laboral competencies and promote their entrepreneurial mentality with relevant training in the creation of micro-enterprises. The individual institutions have also committed themselves to this project by providing the space to carry out the food production, beauty, crafts, among others.  This also permits the teaching staff to gain these skills as well, thereby ensuring the sustainability of the workshops in the future. The final feature of the project is the creation of a credit fund that supports the 30 best projects proposed by the students.
