Justification
Reading and writing are fundamental for the children’s success in schools and for their own personal development. A good reader and writer will be better equipped to develop arguments, reflect on experiences, as well as to generate a critical sense and respect and tolerance for other’s opinions. All of these are key factors for a good academic development. Similarly, mathematics develops logic and structured thinking. The discipline that children develop in math classes can be translated to their daily lives as it helps them to create a logical focus to see possible results and solutions to specific situations and problems. Mathematics allows children to reason, to develop a sense of space, and to make connections, estimations, solve problems and communicate ideas.
