Justification
The model intends to accompany the transformation process regarding the way in which the youngsters perceive the countryside, contributing in this way to the strengthening of rural communities and to the development of the country as a whole through the improvement of quality of education. The perspective of the new rural life is characterized by a more objective and profound view of everything that surrounds the rural sector, including the economic and productive criteria as well as the human and environmental aspects. There is a special emphasis made on the relationship between nature and society.
Methodology
TEACHERS TRAINING: Conceptual issues regarding the pedagogical focus, and curriculum changes and adjustments are tackled. Additionally, articulation with other educational models is performed.
EDUCATIONAL MATERIALS: Implementation of learning units designed by the students from the 3rd to 11th grade. There are materials for teachers and directors to use as a reference, and guidelines for teachers in the new educational institutions.
DEVELOPMENT OF PRODUCTIVE PROJECTS: the cycle of the productive pedagogical projects-PPP (formulation, viability, funding, execution, follow-up and evaluation) is developed as an articulation strategy of the project’s components. The model incorporates the funding process of the students’ PPP’s through capitalization funds and student’s management.
Annual cost per student: US$27
